Gemtree celebrates 30 years with Goolwa Masters
Gemtree Wines has proudly chalked up 30 years as the major sponsor of the Goolwa Masters. Held annually at the South Lakes Golf Club, this highly successful event originated from a social golf game between a small group of family and friends in 1986, including Paul and Jill Buttery, parents of Melissa Brown and founders of Gemtree Vineyards.
Since this first social game, the tournament has established itself over the years as a milestone in the South Lakes golfing calendar.
The organisers have raised more than $20,000 from entry fees in recent years, and this money has been used to fund projects at the club including the Goolwa Masters Pavilion at the first tee. The pavilion was constructed in late 2013 and provides seating and shelter for golfers and includes a barbecue for club functions.
It has also funded television sets and a sound system for the clubhouse and a new bridge connecting the 11th green and 12th tee.
Mike and Melissa Brown have continued to support the Goolwa Masters and were proud to recently receive a memento and special recognition of Gemtree Wines’ ongoing commitment as the naming rights sponsor.
