- Vintage Notes
The Tadpole Shiraz is an untamed animal – zero filtration, zero fining and minimal intervention. The 2006 vintage in McLaren Vale delivered cool climatic conditions throughout the entire growing season enabling us to retain the natural balance from the vineyards through to the bottle. Aged primarily in American oak barriques for 15 months, the Tadpole is a wine that you dream of – natural, juicy, soft and drinkable.
I have always believed that these two varieties pay homage to one another. Shiraz provides the juiciness, the sweetness, and Cabernet the base, structure and the power. This quirky little blend shows all those characteristics and is a ripper addition to the Tadpole stable.
